A total of 32 artists from the U12 Art Community participate in a group exhibition, U12 REVIVAL at Galeri Prima from 26 February – 8 March 2019. The exhibition is jointly organised by Curate Henry Butcher and Galeri Prima.
This is the second year U12 art community exhibited their works at Galeri Prima. Haziq Syawal Solo titled ERRATIC RIDE will be held concurrently.
This exhibition aimed at helping these young artists to showcase their artworks, and flaunt their talents in the hope that their artworks will be appreciated by public.
HAZIQ SYAWAL ERRATIC RIDE & U12 REVIVAL, display various body of works from Aiman Aisamuddin, Aiman Shahfri, Amierul Iskandar, Amirul Fadzil, Amirul Roslan, Amsyar Ramly, Azam Nasri, Azrul Azman, Eman Aimilan, Fadzril Fakaruddin, Fakhriq Zulkifli, Fareez Fauzi, Firdaus Nordin, Hafizuddin Mat Yashim, Heidhir Hamdan, Haziq Syawal, Hidayat Arshad, Isa Ishak, Izzat Hamdan, Khaliq Az-zahi, Loqman Zainal, Syazwan Rahim, Effi Syafiq, Izzuddin Basiron, Nabil Adnan, Nazreen Nor, Putra Nazri, Rais Azmi, Syafiq Adib, Syahmi Jamaluddin and Syukur Rani.
My passage is unpredictable. I started from the bottom. From zero to everything that I still learn now. I observed, and still observing. I discovered, and still discovering. From my earliest inspiration by the great artistes Amron Omar and Awang Damit, I am getting to identify myself in this bizarre industry. Years go by and I still choose to keep expressing my inner thoughts through artworks. This time I am honored to bring people ride along through my unplanned journey. Everybody’s journey has been written differently. And this is mine. Mine is not interesting but challenging. Joseph Addison once said; there is nothing that makes its way more directly into the soul than beauty. Giving colors up in my masterpieces representing how rainbow path it was for me to reach where I stand now. The goal is not to be concerned with the reconstitution of an anecdotal fact, but with constitution of pictorial fact (Georges Braque, 1917). The compositions that I picked indicate my behaviors during those times. The self-portrait series portrayed with collages of canvas patches on its surface. I added collages in order to add particular values to my subjects. One of the values is color tone. Just like what you have been told earlier, colors boost my life journey. said Haziq Syawal.
