Memories, especially childhood memories, are very important in everyone’s life. For many, it’s probably the best time of their lives. Rather, they shape our thinking and, to some extent, our future. They don’t necessarily define us, but they certainly play a big role. Childhood memories also keep the inner child alive. No matter how old we are, each of us will always have a child in us. It reminds us of times associated with things we are passionate about.
Through Memoria, Galeri Prima aims to jolt the memory of the yesteryears, one easily forgotten as the country progresses further. A total of 50 Malaysian artists – young, emerging and seniors – share a narrative of their childhood memories and that of the country. The images are of mixed emotions – some sad, others of happiness of days gone by.
